Dr Anekchai explained that marriage equality is the start of another piece of work: banks, hospitals, insurers and HR teams must update forms, databases and frontline processes so couples can use the rights now recognised by law.
He also described public mechanisms related to gender equality and continuing work on legal gender recognition. His main point was practical: government cannot close the gap between law and daily life alone. Business and civil society have to help make the new rights usable.
